Hario V60 Brew Guide
What you’ll need:

  • Freshly roasted coffee

  • Clean filtered water (90 – 96C)

  • V60 dripper

  • V60 paper filter

  • Weighing scale

  • Gooseneck kettle

  • Server or a mug

  • Timer

How to brew:

  1. Place a V60 paper filter on the V60 dripper. Pour at least 300g of hot water over the paper filter to rinse away any paper taste and most importantly, to warm up the entire dripper for better temperature stability.

  2. Discard the hot water and pour 14.5 grams of medium fine ground coffee into the dripper. Make sure the coffee bed is even and flat.

  3. Slowly pour 35 grams of hot water into the ground coffee starting from the side ending in the middle. Let it bloom for 40 seconds

  4. Pour in the remaining water, do a fast circular pour until it reaches 135 grams within 1 minute. While continuously pouring, gently switch to slow center pour until it reaches 225 grams. Pouring is usually completed from 1:30 to 1:40 seconds.

  5. Total brew time should be between 2.5 to 3 minutes.

Brew tips:
  • Keep the surface of the brew bed high for better thermal stability and extraction

  • Too bitter or dry finish? Adjust grind size to courser

  • Too weak or flat? Adjust grind size to finer
